Con el objetivo es abordar los temas pendientes desde su último encuentro el pasado 2 de octubre, la alcaldesa de Santiago, Goretti Sanmartín, ha enviado una carta al presidente de la Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, solicitando una reunión bilateral entre ambas administraciones.
Sanmartín ha enviado esta carta después de que Rueda anunciara una nueva ronda de contactos para junio con los presidentes de la Federación Galega de Municipios e Provincias (Fegamp), Alberto Varela, las cuatro diputaciones provinciales, y los alcaldes de Vigo, Abel Caballero, y Lugo, Paula Alvarellos.
Así, desde Raxoi lamentan que el presidente gallego no haya incluido a Sanmartín en su agenda, a pesar de que ella había expresado su interés en reunirse con el presidente de la Xunta. «Una vez que se hacen las rondas entre los diferentes ayuntamientos y entidades, lo lógico es que Santiago de Compostela esté presente y sea tenida en cuenta en una condición particular muy especial como es el hecho de ser la capital del país», ha señalado la alcaldesa.
La propia Sanmartín ha criticado que desde la presidencia de la Xunta no se reconozca la especificidad de Santiago como capital de Galicia y su importancia, recordando que hay temas pendientes de discutir, como la sostenibilidad turística, la implementación de la tasa turística y las infraestructuras.
«Después de tomar posesión, podríamos esperar un tiempo prudencial, pero lo cierto es que hay una serie de cuestiones que quedaron en la mesa desde nuestro último encuentro, hace ocho meses, que tienen cierta urgencia y relevancia», afirmó la alcaldesa, quien también ha recordado que en su último encuentro, Rueda se comprometió a reunir al Consello da Capitalidade.
