La alcaldesa de Santiago, Goretti Sanmartín, ha solicitado este sábado al grupo municipal del PSOE que actúe con «responsabilidad para no dar marcha atrás en un proceso iniciado en mandatos anteriores y que busca proteger el uso residencial» en la capital gallega.
Sanmartín hizo estas declaraciones a los medios después de conocer la decisión de los socialistas de abstenerse en la votación del próximo lunes sobre el borrador de ordenanza para la regulación de las viviendas de uso turístico (VUT). Esta abstención impedirá que se lleve adelante la ilegalización de unos 600 pisos en Santiago, como pretendía el Gobierno local.
La alcaldesa insistió en que la ciudad necesita una regulación de los pisos turísticos para proteger el parque residencial destinado a los vecinos, y que impedir esta regulación «sería una irresponsabilidad», pidiendo más tarde a los concejales socialistas que, a la hora de la votación, «pongan por delante los intereses de la población».
La regidora no comentó directamente la decisión comunicada por Aitor Bouza, líder del PSOE compostelano, pero confirmó que esta comunicación, a dos días del pleno extraordinario, les ha sorprendido, especialmente porque se produce casi un mes después de conocer la propuesta del gobierno local.
A pesar de todo, esta evitó abordar las posibles discrepancias internas del PSOE, señalando que no le «corresponde hacer especulaciones de cuestiones internas» de otros grupos políticos.
«Lo único que me corresponde es pedir responsabilidad», concluyó.
