El presidente de la Xunta y del PPdeG, Alfonso Rueda, ha solicitado a los gallegos el «pequeño esfuerzo» de acudir a votar, resaltando que estas elecciones son cruciales no solo para Europa, sino también para España y Galicia, que «se juegan muchísimo».
Rueda votó alrededor de las once y media en Pontevedra, en el Centro Galego de Tecnificación Deportiva, acompañado de su familia y de los candidatos Francisco Millán Mon y Adrián Vázquez. Subrayó la importancia de votar «para decidir el futuro no solo del continente, sino también esta vez especialmente» de España y de Galicia.
En sus declaraciones tras votar, Rueda agradeció el trabajo de todos los apoderados e interventores de su partido, así como de otras fuerzas políticas. Valoró positivamente que «como en todas las elecciones, todo funciona con normalidad» y que el clima, al no ser muy veraniego, «invita a votar».
Por su parte, la secretaria general del PPdeG, Paula Prado, votó al mediodía en el colegio electoral de la Facultade de Dereito de la USC, en Santiago de Compostela. Allí, enfatizó que los gallegos «nos jugamos mucho» en estas elecciones en áreas como la pesca, el rural, las infraestructuras y la defensa del Estado de derecho. Advirtió que «si tú no vas a votar, otro usará tu voto», recordando el lema de la campaña del Parlamento Europeo: «Usa tu voto. Si no, otros decidirán por ti».
Tanto Rueda como los otros representantes populares seguirán los resultados electorales en la sede del partido en Santiago de Compostela, a donde el líder del PPdeG tiene previsto ir a partir de las diez de la noche, según indicó esta mañana.
